Good location (3 minutes to Place Massena), friendly staff: always ready to help, will call tourist offices for you, etc
Ventilation is not working in the bathroom. But if you keep bathroom door and windows in your room open, this will help.

I recently stayed at Hotel De Verdun for a week-long vacation. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect, with easy access to bus stations and popular attractions like the beach, Old Town, and Cours Saleya. The room was clean and the bathroom looked newly renovated. I appreciated the abundance of power sockets and the fast wifi. it was a great experience.
I can just recommend this hotel.

The location, wifi, air-conditioning.
The amount of stairs you have to climb to reach the miniature elevator, which can hardly fit a medium size suitcase + a thin person. If you are physically challanged in any way, or if you can't carry your own suitcase up at least 2 huge floors, then you are in trouble. Breakfast: don't count on real coffee, the food is not worth the 8 euros, instead go to the Ritz cafe, 5 minutes from the hotel, and enjoy a real French experience with delicious coffee and pasteries.

Ideal central Nice location - the rooms were exeptionally quiet despite being located on a main central Nice road. The airconditioning worked well as did the free internet access in all rooms. Staff friendly and accomodating with good English language.
Rooms were small but still very good value for its location

For the price we paid, Hotel De Verdun was a great value. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location couldn't be better. We were within walking distance of all the major attractions in Nice, including the beach. it was a comfortable and pleasant stay.
The only thing I would suggest to make the breakfast selection better would be to add more variety to the spread.

The location was ideal. The rooms were a good size, staff were so nice and friendly. I would stay there again as place generally good, really comfortable beds.
The bathroom was very small and very difficult to use facilities comfortably. The room was too narrow and the shower leaked everywhere. Not ideal. Alas, there was no bar at the hotel as stated in the literature. It was being refurbed.

The location was absolutely fantastic - just steps away from the main street and a short walk to the beach! The beds were comfortable and clean, and the rooms, although small, were also clean. Special mention to the helpful and cheerful manager, Ms. Aline, who recommended us a fantastic day tour. The hotel offered free Wi-Fi in the rooms, had flat-screen TVs, and even allowed pets. The receptionist was super friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, including arranging early check-in and helping with our bags. The hotel had a unique French character and the modern bathrooms were a nice touch. The windows were double-paned, making the room surprisingly quiet. The location was perfect, close to all the main attractions. Breakfast was available for a reasonable price, but we opted for a café in the sun. a great value for money and an excellent French hotel experience!

The location was excellent 5 mins walk to the old town, and shopping area. Good choice of restauraunts. Great for buses to monaco. The hotel is in need of refurbishment although the room and bathroom were very clean, the bed was comfortable and there was no noise at all.For the price paid it was good.
The first flight of stairs up to reception not good carrying a suitcase although hotel staff were very helpful.Carpet in room needs to be changed very stained.

My friend and I recently stayed in the hotel while on a very short trip to Nice. It was very centrally located - close to the seafront, shops, old town. The staff were incredibly friendly speaking very good english. We were upgraded to a larger room for no extra cost when we arrived. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel for a cheap and cheerful visit to Nice.Well done and thank you.

My 19 year old daughter and I had a very good experience - clean, well lit, good service, especially from Fergi at the front desk. He was extremely helpful. Just a couple of minutes to get to Blanche Metro stop. Several restaurants nearby. I would stay again and recommend to those looking for a moderate budget option that is convenient and well run.
Internet only in main lobby was only drawback.

We all each got a bed, which is quite comfortable. The sheets & bathroom are clean. Staff was helpful.
There should be a shower curtain in the room. No elevator. No trash can outside of the bathroom.
